2 weeks ago i dyed my hair a mohogany brown. Loreal expertte/ dark mohogany brown. Well i hated it, it came out a dark red ( duh i should have known) It doesnt fit my skin tone (olive, tan)My natural hair color is black.

Now i would like to go light brown. Loreal's Feria Hi-lift browns.

Must i strip my hair?? Please tell me i dont have to, to achieve this color. Below is the link to the color i'd like to try.

personally i don't suggest using the hi lift brown i had dark reddish brown hair and did a stand test it hardly lifted the color maybe one shade and it was still reddish i susggest using a dark brown with a green base to mute the red like dark ash brown and go from there. maybe then you could try lightening it to light brown. but give it a week or two to rest and use an intensive conditioner. hope this helps you could also try going to a sallys beauty supply if you have one near you sometimes they can help with advice

Because color doesn't lift color, applying a high lift brown color to your hair isn't going to do anything but give you bright roots and red ends. Your options are this:
1. Strip out the old color with a remover. Good luck, because reds are especially hard to remove. When coloring after the remover, pick a shade at least two to three shades lighter than your desired level. If you pick the exact shade that you want, your hair could turn black because your hair will be porous after the color remover.
2. Color it back to your natural color. An dark ash brown will be your best bet, but you will still be able to see hints of red in your hair. Moreso as the color fades.
Hope this helps!
