Hey,
My natural hair colour is light brown but over the years I've highlighted it, dyed it black, had bright highlights you name it- i've done it. EXCEPT, going blonde.
I really want to go a light blonde Hollywood starlet kind of colour.
My only trouble is that just recently I went to the hair salon and told them I wanted to go blonde. They said because I had previously highlighted hair it wouldn't work, so they just put in loads of highlights so now it looks like this:

But ideally, I'd love to have Scarlett Johanssons blonde look like this:

I was thinking about buying a bottle and just dying over it (i got my hair dyed last week) is this a bad idea? like, would my highlights turn yellow or green? Any ideas on what I should do?

Thanks :)

Don't put a color over it! You cannot lift (lighten) the color you currently have without the use of bleach. I wouldn't try this on your own. a professinal should definitely be able to make your color like Scarlett's color in the pic you included. I cann't imagine why the salon you went to said that it couldn't be done... Try another salon.
Good luck!

Mena's correct. If you already have highlights, which looked pretty nice but tad warm, it's suggested to go back to the salon to have it fixed by bringing the pic of Scarlett. Tell the person you want a similar result. If they can't, then go to a different salon and bring the pic with you. In the pics, you really have warm tones, very golden blonde. Scarlett has very pale ashy blonde thing going on (hence no golden tones in there). Seeing that pic of Scarlett, I'd dare to say my hair's very much like hers right now, a pale ashy blonde and I did it all by myself.

Stunning cut and great color. I have no idea how to help you get the color you want but I think it will look wonderful when you do!
