Hey! I have read as much as I could to try to help my dumb ass get out of this color I'm in right now. I started with grown out folied hair and the roots were killing me so I thought I could fix it (dumb). I used Loreal something, the one with 2 steps. It turned my roots a bit orangy. So today i put in clairol's nice n easy natural light brown. My hair is brown with a redish orange tint. Its not too bad, but is there anyway possible to get this orange out? The salon is out of the question. From my research I am wondering if I should go get a semi permanent light brown. Would that help take this bit of orangish red out? My hair is very thick and still feels relatively good. I know it can hold up! Thanks you guys!

If you go with a semi-permanent, you should get an ash shade -- maybe Natural Instincts light ash brown. It should get the red out. The good thing about semi-permanents is that they're not very damaging to your hair. Good luck.

SusanW seems to know a lot about colour. Maybe she'll have a different option for you.

Whatever you do, don't panic and put something permanent on your hair. Make sure to strand test too!

Thanks for your quick response! If I go ash I'm afraid my now brownish hair will turn green. Do you think this could happen?

Make sure to do a strand test. The ash should offset the orange tint. But you are smart to go with a semi-permanent color. Let us know how it goes.
