ok, so... i want something different. something DIFFERENT but not drastic. nothing too "out there." i don't want just 1 drab color. that's a waste. i was just going to go in and talk with the colorist, but i want some sort of idea when i go in. i don't want to fly off the handle with the first thing she shows me, lol. i'm also chopping off my hair, i think. haven't decided. but i want something fun for when i go back to school next week. thanks for your help, guys!

*edit* yeah, i'm on the left- sorry i left that out lol

You are my TWIN....it's really weird!! We look exactly alike! I need to send a photo!

My advice to you is to go professional and get foil highlights. And DON'T chop it off....get some long layers! 3 days ago I wanted something subtle, but I goofed up and did a home-dye job that turned out TERRIBLE! I am trying to figure out how to fix it but have not had any luck so far! I did get the layers and LOVE them!

Good luck!!

i have long layers, you just can't really see them because the longer parts of my hair are folded up on my shoulder... i just want something funkier. i want a more trendy haircut and a funkier color. i want more than highlights, they seem wayy too common. ohh i just don't know what i want, lol

Just don't go too drastic and freak yourself out! haha what about trying some highlights in blonde, reds and carmel colours? That would look nice too! Speaking from experience.....just make sure you go PROFESSIONAL! I can't believe how BAD my hair looks! Mine is down to the middle of my back and it was dark brown with natural highlights of blonde, red and carmels, but I wanted it lighter....whatta mistake! >:( I could kick myself! Now I have to go to the salon and spend twice the $$ getting it corrected and probably still not get what I originally wanted! So much for the "Jessica Simpson" look.....now I am more like "carrot top". LOL

Enough about that....I think you should take it in stages...don't go too crazy all at once! :) Do you ever curl all of your hair? My layers look GREAT when I spend the time curling it!

Careful what you wish for! Your hair is so lovely as it is. I would suggest very fine, subtle highlights a shade or two lighter than your natural. You really don't need a drastic change, sometimes the subtle ones are most striking!

As for the cut, if you go too short you may regret it. It's best to take baby steps toward big changes with your hairstyle. Try a little at a time. My best advice is to find yourself a great stylist. Take your time and meet with a few different people. It can't hurt, right?
