I am interested in dying my hair a strawberry blonde, kind of like this, but I don't know how good it will look on me. I have pale skin, and my natural hair color is dirty blonde/auburn. My eyes are bright blue/grey with greenish yellow around the pupil... so should I go for 'warm' or 'cool' or what? I don't know what types of hair color would really bring out my eyes and look good on me. Anyone have any ideas? I could post a picture if that would help...

I have a friend under the description you described with naturally strawberry blonde hair, and it looks great. But remember that you can only lighten your hair up to two shades without it looking coppery, unless you bleach and redye.

Thanks for posting, you guys :) I have some pics here. Tell me which colours you think would work for my hair. My natural colour is a sort of auburn/dirty blonde, but it's currently dyed dark auburn. Here are the photos:

Your best bet would be to go to www.clairol.com and use their "try it on" studio. It's pretty easy, just upload your pic, and make sure you use their resize and move features to fit your face inside the little outline. Then you pick a hairstyle, a color level, and a color. I played around with it a little bit and I there was a champagne blonde color that I thought looked really good on you, but what matters most is what *you* like, and this is a good way to find out. :)

i definantly wouldnt go too light..almost a light auburn color...you may want to try light brown and bleach some highlights in your hair and go over them with a strawberry dye of your choice before you go all out on your whole head. trust me-ive seen one too many hair disasterswhen people have their heart set on something and it turns out not to be what they expected. either way-this much of a change is gonna be a blow at first, it will take a moment to get used to. so be prepared.

Thanks for your input. I was just wondering, how do I know whether warm or cool colors are right for me? I've tried to figure it out, but my skin has yellowish undertones (warm) and my eyes are mostly blue (cool), so what am I? I don't get it...

If your skin has yellowish undertones, then you probably look better in gold than in ash, and blonde would look good on you. Sorry I can't tell you from your photograph, lighting plays hectic with people's coloration (I did notice you look very pale and cool toned in the full picture, but the one of your eye has your skin looking golden).

One way to tell is if you look really good in lavender, you're probably better off with cool or ash colors on your hair, and if you look really good in bright yellow, then golden or strawberry blonde would be fine.

Well, thanks again, but I still don't know if I'm warm or cool. In the summer I get a bit of a tan and my skin takes on more of a yellowish hue, but in the winter I'm very pale. I've had very blonde highlights and thought they looked great, but I think my dark hair right now looks good too. I think I'll just try to figure out which specific hair colours look good, as opposed to trying to figure out if I should look for warm or cool shades. I'm starting to think I'm a bit of both...

ringspell- i have the same features. i have blue eyes, with a ring of yellow around the pupil. i used to stress over whether i was warm or cool, until i realized it could be both. normally my skin has yellow undertones, but i blush ALOT, to the point where i look pink. I think alot of it has to do with the colors you are wearing, they will reflect on your skin some. Also, certain colors may look better warm or cool. For example: when i am light blonde, it really looks better with cool undertones, but when i am a redhead, i need the coppery colors(warm), to pull it off with my skin tone. I have been told i should have yellow undertones for that, but you wouldn't believe how many compliments i have recieved with coppery red hair. when you have a tan, you will look more golden, too. Right now i have settled with a medium goldenbrown, and I love it. People tell me it is beautiful and think it is natural. Because as much as i would like my color to be noticed, i still get a kick out of people thinking it could be mine. I think that means it looks Right for me, even if it is just because of lighting or time of year. basically do what you want, don't stress so much over what other people tell you is right. its just hair, thats the beauty of it, if you do something not quite right, you can fix it. and if you are wearing a color you love, people will see your attitude and just know youre beautiful!
