I need to make my hair darker over a period of time... I remember a product called sun-in or something that you put in every day, and over a couple weeks your hair ended up much lighter... I need something that does this but makes it darker instead.

You can use a color enhancing shampoo. If you wash with it everytime you wash, and don't condition afterwards, the darker color builds up. It won't be permanent though, and will wash out as soon as you start using regular shampoo again.
