I found this board and I thought I would post my hair color question.

I see a lot of you out there have done black and I'm one of them. I have naturally dark brown hair(don't ask what level...I have no idea!) and last July, after having red hair from March-June '04, I decided to go darker. I tried Feria in #40 Espresso.... and it washed out after 2 days. Then in July of last year I tried Nice n' Easy in Natural Black, since nothing else would stick. After almost 6 months of black hair...I hate it and now I want to go back to either red or maybe a medium brown with red tones. I am not going to do this at home... since I have hair that goes past my shoulders and I want to keep it. I am already going to a salon and getting it done professionally, so my question is... after the black is lifted off, what would be better....red or brown? Thanks for any advice.

It's pretty much just whichever you would prefer. If they accidentally lift your hair too high (like to a yellow stage), you will have a little trouble getting red to stay on (reds tend to slide off, especially when you use conditioner, and it would be noticeable if your hair is yellow underneath). But they probably won't lift it that high, so whichever you prefer would be fine for you.
