Too dark

usually i use Garnier 100%XL light golden brown on my hair, which is naturally dark brown, i have always been pleased with the results. last ngiht i decided to try the light brown, trying to get rid of some of the "red" in my hair, well, now i'm a drab dark brown, with no sheen or shine to my hair. any advice? i called the company and they said to do it over with the light golden brown to add some of the "warmth" back in. my hair salon said go with a dark golden blonde instead.

what should i do??????

I might wait a few days, then I'd probably do what the company said (not the salon). The company has a better idea what their dyes do in various situations...the salon probably uses something else and has no way to know what base colors are in those.
