HI, I am moving from box color to salon color. I have very dark hair going grey. I am concerned with the harshness and possible health risks of coloring with dark hair color every 5 weeks. I am looking at a aveda salon. My question.. is the hair color products less harsh and possibly safer for me using the Aveda color products? Thanks, Kathy

I have no experience with this dye, but aveda prides itself on natural ingredients from plants, so they definitely should be safer than some of the nasty stuff they put in chemical dyes. I did read a favorable article online about it, and that it covers gray well.

Salon color is always less harsh than box color, cuz of the added ingredients and whtnot.
