(Sorry about the exclamation point in the subject line. I meant to type a question mark and then couldn't change it.)

I am naturally a Level 5 Light Ash Brown with about 25% grey. My stylist darkens my hair, which is cut in a very short crop, to Level 2 Dark Ash Brown. The volume of developer she uses is 20. Because my hair is so short and is only being darkened within my natural shade, it seems that I could do my own coloring with comparable results to the salon. I know that professional coloring is not to be sold to the non-cosmetologist. I have used Miss Clairol Professional 48D Dark Ash Brown in the past, but didn't feel I got the same richness of color as my stylist does. I know she uses a hi-end Italian brand. Any suggestions on a brand available I can purchase in the U.S. (I live in Southern California) to get the richest, darkest results? Thanks!
Here's to the end of my BAD HAIR LIFE!

I heard Satin color is an italian brand sold publicly at local beauty supply stores.

I live in Southern CA too so i know u could easily find that color here. Or try going w/ a hairdresser to Maly's and buying one of the professional brands so u get the good salon results. That is, if u have a close relative or friend who could take u and buy the stuff from there and u could pay them back, since Maly's is not for the public.
