Hey guys I was just wondering if anybody knows how often can you apply semipermanent colors(the ones that wash out in 8-10 washes) and do they cause a lot of damage to the hair?I found this new loreal semiperm.and it says that it contains no ammonia or peroxide..Thanx!

I would tell you that its a pretty safe bet to use a semi when the other one washes out(for the most part anyway) ...They are nowhere near as harsh as permanant so it shouldnt noticably damage your hair.

Thanx for the reply, but I don't really want to wait for it to wash out.. The thing is, I'm a natural blonde and I color my hair black..For the last couple of months I've been using natural instincts about once a month. Now I have about 5 boxes in my hair so I was wondering if that's really bad for my hair, and if there is any solution except using permanent...Would using manic panic be a better idea?

What color do you want to dye it?? The same or a lighter color...If its black then you do realize that color over color only turns out darker, right? if you currently have black and you want to put say...a light brown over it--it will only turn out blacker. Also--when coloring your hair...you may want to avoid doing it 5 times in a course of a couple of months, especially with a drugstore color(more damaging then professional) and next time you want to touch up the roots, dont apply the color over your whole head all over again..Just apply it to the new growth and roots.reapplying color like that will make your hair spongey.. as long as you dont notice a difference in your hair condition now then you should be ok. just take note for future reference. ;)

If your ends aren't fading, just apply the dye to the light parts. That way you won't be continuously adding more and more dye to the same sections of hair.

You could also try Manic Panic if you like. I actually prefer Special Effects, myself. It is the safest for your hair, but it doesn't stick to virgin hair very well.
