hey guys I am having a problem with, like 2 inches of hair looks really brassy, kinda like a carrot color, I bleached the roots last night and put a dark ash blonde on it since my hair color now is dark ash blonde,

but I had no luck it barely turned ash blonde, it remains looking lighter than teh rest of my hair, I am not sure what to do?? I wa was going to a buy a medium ash brown and mix it with a dark ash blonde, just to ash this hair out a little, the rest of my hair is a real nice ash blonde no brassiness at all, but these roots I am not sure what to do with them I was going to lighten them some more to get them to a more yellow tone. and then dye it dark blonde, what do you think? aghh I am almost about to give up

My educated guess is that you applied the bleach to your roots too soon... because the bleach is activated by the heat from your scalp, you should apply all over, keeping about an inch from your scalp, wait about 20 mins, and THEN apply to your roots. That results in a nice, even base color to work with. I''m not sure the best way to fix it, however...

That''s awesome that the ash blonde worked for you though! I adore ashes, but am terrified of them, I''ve heard too many horror stories to even contemplate using one. :S

Hi, anyway for some reason I have always liked ash colors, for me they are easy to mess around with, since my hair is naturally really dark, so if I bleach my hair and apply an ash color it picks up the ash color right away! plus with my dark skin i dont have much to choose from when it comes to blonde hair.

anyway what happened with my hair was that i used a different bleach that was not as strong and applied it to my roots for less time, then before

so Now what I am doing is re-bleaching my the roots to get it blondish and get the orangey out which I dont like at all, once I get a blonder shade then I will try applying the dark ash blonde again, and crossing my fingers that it works! will let you know teh results ina few hours wish me luck

Hey guys I finally fixed my hair! I bleached the roots a bit till teh orange was gone then I mixed a clairol ultress medium ash blonde with a medium ash brown, and it covered all the brassiness, I am pretty happy with the results, my hair seems a bit damaged but i conditioned it with organic co**** oil/and deep conditioner and then applied john freida serum( gloss), and its looking pretty good!
