About 6 weeks ago, I dyed my naturally "dishwater blonde" hair an all-over dark brown, then for fun went and foiled in some red, some black and some very light blonde (had it done by an almost-graduate from cosmetology school, looked awesome). Now, obviously my blonde roots are showing and I am in serious need of either going back to blonde or staying brown...and I would REALLY like to go back to blonde. Any suggestions on the safest way to do this...I will be getting it done professionally....just don't want to bleach my hair so much that it is ruined...did that before and it took nearly 2 years to get it back to normal..

First, get yourself some Colorfix. This will remove much of the dye, though maybe not all of it. After you have used the Colorfix, you will be able to see whether it is light enough to suit you or not. If it is not, at this point your choices will be settling for a color that you can do with your current base or taking a chance on bleaching it to lighten it further.

So this colorfix...is it something the colorist at the salon can use or is it something I would have to buy on my own?

You can buy it at Sally's, if you want to do it at home. They use it in salons, too.

My 15 yr old daughter has (had) beautiful long blond hair. Then she wanted to change it to medium brown (which actually looked nice since she''s pretty pale anyway) then she went darker brown. The this last time she went to a dark burgundy. Now she has decided that she wants to go back to blonde.

From what I''m understanding - I should use the colorfix that I can get at Sally''s. Then I should see what color it is then and decide whether or not to color it the color she wants..... How long should I wait after Colorfix to apply any new dye?

You can do it immediately.
