Hello all,
I have an upcoming appt. at the salon and was wondering if this would be easy to do. I would like it to be mostly blonde coverage. My hair right now is light brown/red with chunky blonde highlights. Should I tell her that I want my hair dyed blonde, or can she pretty much cover up that brown with new blonde highlights?
This is an all over blonde, achieved by a dye job, not highlights. Just tell your salon that's what you want and they should be able to do it. (Bring the picture so they can see what shade you want).

Candigirl In my professional opinion... Given what you told me about you natural color... I would not use permanent color. You,d run the risk of getting to brassy. Instead I would heavy hilght and lowlight(to get rid of the chunks) using a very natural weaving technique. Then, maybe even tone. I love tonersbecause you can achieve such delicate/natural shades of blondes. As mentioned earlier...most definately bring that pic! Hope this helps Gina
Edited to say...If you have a relationship with your stylist...I'm sure she'll do a great job. I can not stress the importance of finding a good stylist and staying with them...Don't salon hop!
The only way to get the the color of that picture on light brown hair is to use bleach + 20vol. if you try have have color done to it, it will come up very golden in color and not light blonde, it will be very brassy looking. Make sure they use bleach on you.
