QuoteReplyTopic: great salon in Nj for hair extensions Posted: December 16 2004 at 5:01am
Hi everyone, This is the first time that I am posting a message. About two months ago I impulsively got a short haircut, and I HATED it. I live in central NJ, and I researched hair extensions, and salons. I went to Vitto Mazza salon and day Spa in Woodbridge, NJ last week, and got extensions. They use the newest method. It is called Ultress 2.I now have shoulder length hair, and am lovin' it. Abit pricey.but we get what we pay for.
Hmm, i've been asking around the heralopecia forums about this ultratress 2 method ..but getting no where ;)
do you know of any good places online that have more in-depth info? ;) ...meaning, not the usual "it's hair progression ..not hair extension!" stuff :P
lol :D
(not that i'll be getting them anytime soon - just really curious)
Hi, Unfortunately, when doing my research on extensions, I did not see any other sites for the Ultress2 method..........but the number of the salon that I used is732-636-0119. You can ask for Rich, he may know of other places. The stylist that did my extensions is GREAT.name is Teri O.
I have usedon clients and myself worn Ultratress 2 hair extensions. They are made by the hair replacement company Onrite. Their women's divsion of hair replacement products is called Gemtress.
They are very thin strips of polyurthane with hair attached to them. Kind of like a weft, but the top is the poly material. To apply, your hair is sandwiched in between two pieces of the strips and a brush on adhesive is use to hold it all together.
I think it is an ok method, but not great. It can be messy to put in since the adhesive sometimes wants to ooze out of the strips and to remove you have to put an oil remover on the hair which also gets messy. Then, if you really want to reuse the hair, the stylist would have to scrub all the oil off of the hair strips before it can be put back on.
It's time consuming to apply.
One client that I had put them on had fine hair, and after 10 weeks of wear, the tension of the wefts cause her to get a bald spot on the side of her head.

Wow! How much did you pay, if you don't mind my asking? I was thinking of getting extensions because I HATE my short hair. But I'm a bit hesitant after reading some of the posts in the hair extensions forum. I just think I need to do a lot of research before I make a decision. How are your extensions holding up? Is the hair quality good? Are you experiencing any problems?
Anyway, it's so funny you posted this today because I was going to ask about a good hair extension salon in central NJ!

The price differs depending on the plan you sign up for. I choose a one year plan because in the long run it is the best buy. The extensions are holding up beautifully, very easy to wash and style.

I don't offer this method anymore.

Hi metalgirl, I think the method of application that you described differs from the one that i had. there was no brush-on adhesives. The hair had a self adhesive backing.
