QuoteReplyTopic: I'm in extension heaven! A few questions... Posted: December 29 2004 at 1:07pm
I've been lurking for a bit and THANK GOD I found this site! I have found a vast amount of info and expertise here! Thanks everyone for sharing!
Here's the thing - I do not have a license and am a complete newbie ... can I do extensions myself? I need them big and bad ... and by the way it sounds I could do shrinkies. I don't need a lot - just around my face. I have fine, straight hair and am looking for volume and a bit more length (I already have hair past my shoulders) as the hair in front is breaking off before I can grow it out. Do I need a license to purchase shrinkies and the accessories? Do I need a license to purchase hair? I'd love to hear everyone's opinions.

Hi there chick, do you live in the USA or England, no you don't need a licence to purchase the hair or the shrinkies, I recommend setting up a paypal account then purchasing your shrinkies from www.drlocs.net and then getting your hair from superhairfactory.com xx There is a demonstration on the Dr Locs website to show you how to apply shrinkies xx
Woo hoo - thanks for the replies ladies!!!! I already have a paypal acct. (Ebay) soooooo dr. locs here I come! I think I've learned enough on this WONDERFUL site to comfortably do it myself....and if I have any questions I know where to come! I'm soooooooooo excited to do this! Thanks thanks thanks!
I would definietly buy the supplies from Doc Locks, but you might want to do more research on the actual hair. The Doc Locks pretipped hasn't been getting the best reviews lately (read amm's review of the wavy, someone else posted similar observations about the silky straight). I do get the impression that pretipped is often not as high-quality as wefted or bulk hair, but that's just my observation.
Gotcha Jenny - thanks! I'm looking at the superhairfactory website...can I order Bohyme silky straight and tip them myself? If so, how do I tip them so the tips don't melt with the shrinkies? Sorry for all the questions - I'm quite intrigued!

You can pre-tip this hair yourself, purchase some liquid gold glue from superhairfactory and then follow the tips how to do this on a previous thread by AMM xx
