Has anyone seen this: http://www.greatlengths.net/gl_www/home.php?idioma=ingles

Great Lengths must have redone their website recently, but apparently (with this new air-pressure technology) you don't have to place the individual strands anymore. I wonder if that would actually work.

I'm not the biggest fan a of GLs (although I think their hair is very good quality). That said, they have a terrific illustration of how non-cuticle hair gets frizzy after a few washes.

:)

Duh. That link only takes you to the Home Page. To see the new technology, click on "New Technology" on the bottom of the left-hand nav bar; to see the hair illustration, click on "Our Hair" (it'll take you through a lengthy slideshow, but it's there). :)

Awesome application process. Too bad it's fusion, but for those who it works for, this is major. Man, what do you think the time frame for a typical 250 strand application is?

Nah--just on my boyfriend (and he's not particular about his hair). I appreciate the thought, but I don't think being an extensionist is for me. Maybe I'll write a book about them, though--cause God knows there needs to be more information available to the public before they all go out trashing their heads. And if I do that, you can bet I'll be hitting you all up for case studies and interviews! :)

girrrrrrrl, i just read that other heated threan about licensing verses not. i forgot what it was actually called. wow. i was left numb for a bit. listen, i ask because sometimes i need an assistant in NY when i do some work and thought you might be intrested.
i do think a book is in order and you are the one to right it. you have an amazing researching cabability.

Thanks, Oly. I don't think I'd be a very good assistant (all thumbs), but again I appreciate the thought. :)

My biggest concern about writing a book is that the whole industry seems to change on a weekly basis, which is why the Internet has been the only real forum for discussing it up to now. I can just imagine writing a book about extensions, shopping it around, getting it published (all of which takes time) and then--boom!--all of the info. is obselete. If someone wrote a book six months ago, it probably wouldn't have included shrinkies, the new fibers, and a few of the other major breakthroughs that have made their debut.

Alternately, I could go undercover and write a book about the human-hair trade industry, which would be fascinating, I think.

:)

good point. you were the first to inform me of the new GL method and i am certified in GL and dint have a clue. there is something wrong with that. yet glad to read your research.
you know, you could also go undercover and include in your book the salons that ripp the clients off and hair gone bad stories.
the beauty industry books are selling like hotcakes!

It's a good idea. I'll definitely give it more thought.

So what's up with the GLs people? Don't they send you press releases on this stuff? It seems so strange if you're spending so much money with them that they're not keeping you informed. :)

Aha! I can't wait to hear. Perhaps this will mean extensions in less than an hour! Dreamy. :)
