I know a lot of you guys here are new with synth hair and are really excited about it. And I think it is great because I love synth hair. And it is a great option if you like to change your extensions or colors frequently.

But from reading all your posts about curling them, I am kinda concerned. Please when you get your synth hair do not go crazy with the hot rollers, hair dryers and curling utensils you decide to use. As tough as this hair seems it is still very delicate and can be trashed very easily. So if you get synth hair that is wavy or curly do not try recurling it until the curl or wave loosens to the point where it doesn't blend with your own hair. Then recurl or rewave it but just do not over do it because this hair can get ratty with too much heat stlying. To make the waves/curls last longer shampoo the synth in lukewarm/cool water, hot water will soften or straighten the curl.

I know that you guys here are really enthusiastic about synth hair but just be careful. It can be damaged really easily with too much heat styling even if it isn't with hot metal tools.

I am just writing this because I don't want you all to get synth hair and overstyle it and have it turn to **** and then wind up hating synth hair.

Also, I find the best way to keep the wave in ,is when you go to sleep at night pull the extension hair up ontop of your head and coil/wrap it around itself and then take a big band( I like to cut up old tights to make bands) and wrap it around the coil. So when you wake up just remove the band and uncoil your hair and it is still wavy/curly.

Hope that I made some sense, and please when you get your synth hair do not go crazy with the heat styling, just use it in moderation.

I would be happy to help with any questions.

Thanks, Julie. This is good to know.

In your opinion--with proper care, and not too much heat styling--how long does monofiber generally last?

Thanks for the advice JJ. I'll keep it mind. It will be a bit different for me not using my curling iron....thats still a big issue for me and synthetic. I'm not sure if I can accomplish styling my hair the way I like it with out my faithful, trusty curling iron!
