QuoteReplyTopic: my hair under clip on extension Posted: January 24 2005 at 12:32pm
Ok, I just bought some human hair clip-in wefts and I am having a hard time with them.
My natural hair barely reaches my shoulders, and when I clip the extension in, at the base of my head, you can clearly see the bottom of my hair underneath. Does any one have any suggestions as to what to do? (Aside from cutting my real hair.)
With the Raquel Welch extensions that I use, the first extension that I place it almost at the very bottom of my neck. Only about an inch or so of hair underneath it, and that weft pretty much covers ear to ear. Then I section off the hair a bit higher, and place a weft on each side of my head and they both meet in the middle. If you stagger the heights at which you place them, you shouldn't be able to notice your natural hair length too much! Let me know how it works out!

I find that when my hair is cut into gradual layers it looks beautiful with the clip-ins. I have naturally wavy hair and I will post a picture for you guys tomorrow (my husband knows how to do this stuff) showing my hair with and without my clip-in. I am in need of hair because my clip-in now is about the same length. Looking for a different method though because the clip-ins get annoying being put in everyday. I also find the longer I go with the hair the heavier it is and it hurts I really do not know how you girls that use mutiple clip-ins do it - doesn't it feel weird?

Heather- The suggestions with the clip ons fixed the problem totally! Thanks, you cannot even see the underneath shortness now.
Kim-As for the hair being heavy with all the layering not too bad. Just with my natural hair layered it goes from short to waaaaay long! So I need to cut the extentions a bit to layer them and make them look more natural. Thanks
Kim- you can barely even feel the clip ins on your head, only like, if you're laying down then they probably dig in. There is barely any weight to them, and since they are placed at the root of your hair, there is no weight actually pulling on your natural hair.

Heather- Yes, they are the same exact one's on Ebay.
I got one set on Ebay and bought the shorter set directly from their website. They are very soft, natural and (so far) seem to be very sturdy where they attach at the weft. I just washed them for the first time and they really filled out nicely.
Have you cut any of your extensions? I am thinking about cutting the 24" ones a bit.
