As far as the bonding material, I'm not sure what they use specifically, but I would just go with Liquid Gold: http://www.liquidgoldglue.com/ (I would recommend getting a few small bottles) or you can use latex glue (which is generally available at beauty supply stores). If the Hairlocs bonds are totally broken down, cut off the end and retip them; if it needs just a little reinforcement, just use a light coating of the LG over the preexisting bond. For tipping instructions, check out AMM's: http://talk.hairboutique.com/forum/viewthread.asp?forum=AMB%5FAP934431446&id=1181

As far as getting GLs hair, that would be very difficult unless you knew a stylist who was willing to sell you the hair. Even so, you'd need to completely re-tip them from scratch because the GL bonds are huge compared to the microrings. There are lots of other possibilities of course, in terms of buying human hair. What exactly are you looking for--color, length, texture, and so forth?

:)

Hey Jenny, I was just thinking. I really loved the hair that I had when I had Great Lengths, and the hair I have now (Hairlocs) is really crappy quality. I was wondering if I could find somebody to purchase the hair from Great Lengths, could I use those with my hairlocs? What I mean is, I know they have the keratin bond at the top of the extension that is normally fused onto your hair but I was thinking maybe I could insert that up into the locs and clamp them in. What do you think?

Hi Jenny, Now that I have purchased the starter kit from Hairpiece.com and am doing the maintenance on my own hair (Hairlocs), I'm missing one thing. Can you direct me to a site that sells the bonding material they use for the tip of the extensions? It kind of feels like a wax of some sort. Some of mine are falling apart and I've tried to reheat them with the curling iron, however, some of them just don't have enough material on the end of them to bond the hair together. Thanks!
