Was it you, Save- a- stray that said you liked some of the Hair to Go tapes?

Which ones do you like? What would be the best method for caucasian hair?

They don't give a lot of description on their website about what exactly each tape covers

Which DVD's would you recommend for african american hair?  I was looking at the micro lace and possibly intra-blend.

And which DVD is the very traditional method of hair weaving???

I personally liked the Intra-Blend video technique myself.


I really like all the videos but I think the "Intertwist" weave looked the
hardest to do and was a technique I personally hadn’t seen done before.
It is done with loose extension hair not hair on a weft. The loose hair is
integrated into your existing hair using a twisting technique. It looked
real nice when he was finished but this would need a bit of practice I
think. You may find it a lot easier to do than I did…LOL

Well, pretty much Perfect Hair, The Intra-Blend, and the Micro-Lace are
the most traditional type weaves done today…… it’s certainly a personal
preference and how much hair you want to leave out. Just to recap for
you…so this may give you some insight to which video would suit you
best.

The Mirco-Lace is a full head weave, leaving none of the natural hair out.
Vertical plaits curving to the shape of the head. Then mesh/netting is
secured around the head. Then wefts are stitched on horizontally. He
show’s you how to conceal the crown area (closing) and that’s why I
wanted it but the video kind of skipped forward on certain parts while he
is doing that closing part. You get the general idea how to do the closing
but they could have done a better job showing it. I totally recommend you
do plaits (inverted cornrows) rather than regular cornrows with this
method….just to lessen the bulk factor.


The Perfect Hair Extensions is pretty much a full head technique too, with
just a little hair left out around the hairline and a slight horseshoe left out
on top for blending. Vertical plaits and then you sew the wefts on
horizontally. This is a flatter technique than a round the world weave or
horizontal tracks. This particular video technique they did would be used
more for a lower ponytail look. Although you can do your own custom
technique here to wear the hair higher if you want.

The Intra-Blend Technique ……It leaves out a lot of the natural hair which
is a much more believable look I think. Although that’s just my preference
in general. You can wear a higher ponytail with this particular technique.
Again, several vertical plaits are done in tiny sections over the head and
leaving the hair out in-between. These vertical plaits are connected by
horizontal plaits around the perimeter, pretty much like a box shape. The
wefts are sewn on horizontally.


You will find the videos very amusing …..I can tell you that. He’s a very
interesting guy…but I really do recommend his videos…I now own 11 of
them and I would still buy if he comes out with another hair extension
video. I always learn something new and sometimes you learn what not to
do…LOL.

I'd love to take a class from her.  I have two of her tapes, but hands on is always better!  I would love to learn another weave method that will hold in fine hair.

Marie, is there a site anywhere that we couuld see this flat weaving with no braiding technique? I am very interested in trying to learn a DIY method without trying how to make rows. The protac just doesn't seem to be working for me....I think the IC hair polisher and the Proclaim spray I use to make my hair soft is causing the tape to slip and become un-attached way too often.  

Hi Jeep girl, I don't know where to see it except her tapes. The base is made by stitching. As I remember you are making the base and sewing the weft at the same time. If I remember it right, it has been awhile. If metal has that tape she could explain better. It did hold very well but I don't think I could do it to myself.

No, the Micro-Lace video does not show how to make lace fronts…it’s
purely a full head weave technique using netting. I have a link you might
find helpful if you want to try and make your own lace front wig. You will
find links to classes (NY), supplies and how to ventilate (Atelier-Bassi). I

As for the Hair To Go fusion video….this is the only one in his hair
extension collection I do NOT recommend ….he is a great weavist but I
was “cringing” watching the fusion video. His technique includes….Using
a hot pot & acrylic fusion sticks, cutting the hair off the weft, using a
cardboard shield, using a small marcel curling iron to purge the bonds
after attachment. He shows the first 5 bonds being done then it jumps to
showing the 2nd row being finished. He shows placement of the first 2
rows and then it jumps to the crown area, where he maybe rolled another
3 –4 strands at the most. So you don’t see more than about 12 bonds
total being done throughout the whole video. It doesn’t show him
cutting/blending the hair afterwards; it just jumps to the after shots. The
video is about 56 mins long. Save your money on this one!! There has to
be a better fusion video out there or take a hands on class…that’s always
the best if you can afford it.
