So I'm watching Dallas reruns from Season 1 (1978), and it dawns on me that the hairstyles--the loose, long, slightly wavy, unstructured "Breck Girl" look--are quite similar to the way everyone seems to want to wear their hair now: http://www.ultimatedallas.com/episodeguide/season1.htm

This is in striking contrast to, say, season 8 (1985), when everyone went mullet/perm-crazy: http://www.ultimatedallas.com/episodeguide/season8.htm

Then, fast-forward to:

Is hair on a 30-year cycle? If so, does this mean the perm/mullet/frosting trend is on the horizon?

I recently saw a science video in an elementary school class. It featured a man, looking pretty ordinary, and a woman who had the most dated-looking hairstyle you could imagine. Spiral/wavy/frizzy perm, shoulder-length forming a triangle, and bangs teased into a cone at the top of her head. It must have been in style all of 3 weeks.

Go for a classic look, girls.


Just looking for a few good hair slaves - is that too much to ask?
