QuoteReplyTopic: Thinning hair in the front... what is best to use Posted: February 12 2005 at 6:24am
Hey everyone! I've been browsing these forums for a couple of days and can't believe how helpful you all are for each other!
My mother has thinning hair on the front portion of her head. Would it look okay to do extensions on only the front part? I had purchased microlinks in size medium but am having doubts that itwould be the best method for fine, thinning hair, because they would be easily detected........ also, what type of hair would be the best to use? Her hair is soo silky that it can barely hold a barrette, which would probably make it hard for some bonding techniques.
Generally I would not recommend extensions for the front of the hair, and the fact that your mom's hair is thinning presents an additional challenge. I definitely would not recommend any process that would be defined as bonding--keratin, glue, etc.
Without knowing the extent of your mom's hairloss, it's difficult to make an assessment, but there are products such as T-closers, integration wigs, and toppers that can be good options. You could actually use the microrings you have to apply a T-closer.
I would suggest that you read through the thread first, then post any questions you might have. When true hairloss (alopecia) is a factor, it's especially careful to proceed with caution.
