QuoteReplyTopic: Still TOTALLY lost as to which brand to get, HELP!! Posted: February 14 2005 at 4:21pm
Thursday is payday, and I still don't know what to get. Please help me out!!
Here are things that are important to me in finding the kind...
1. human hair 2. Good quality NO tangling! NO dryness! (cuticle, raw, virgin) Caucasian hair, smooth. 3. Length preferably 26-30 but I guess 24 will do 4. Dark Brown color 5. Wavey, but not thin stringy waves. If it is impossible to find, I guess I can just resort to straight. 6. Machine weft, so it easier for me to sew on the clips. But I guess I can still sew them onto hand-tied. 7. My budget is 300 bucks.
Rkproducts looked good, great price, and they had wavey in 28. But I am confused as to if it is hand-tied or machine weft. And if the quality is good, considering the prices are so low.
PLEASE help me out here. I have been researching for a long time now and I am still so confused. I have a photoshoot for my modeling portfolio coming up and I want extensions for it.
Please let me know any brands you recommend, and any pics you have with them. And any brands I should stay away from.
Thank you!!

It's getting more and more difficult to recommend human hair sources anymore. Look at this board and you will see there is not one company that is endorsed by all. I am beyond disillusioned and I am more inclined to favor synthetic.
I was surprised to see your mention of RK Products. I have personally never heard of them.
I don't mean to sound harsh here, but you've been asking for recommendations for a month and a half, and I think we've already recommended at least four or five reputable brands that you could try, and we've detailed our experiences extensively with all of them. No one here can guarantee that you'll love any brand of hair, though, because it can vary from batch to batch and these things are somewhat subjective anyway. I get the impression that what you'd like to hear is, "This is the absolute best hair in the world!" And believe me, you're not going to hear that here, unless it's an advertisement.
What I would strongly suggest that you do is go through all of your back posts, write a list of the different kinds of hair recommended by the members here, and start eliminating the ones that do not fit your criteria or price range, that seem too untested, or that there isn't much agreement on. Then, when you've narrowed the field to two or three, call the companies for any additional information, find out about shipping and return policies, and make a decision based on that. Given the timeframe you're dealing with, it sounds like you won't have the time to order samples of each one.
Unfortunately, no one can choose the hair for you--the decision is yours to make.
And a few other points: You aren't going to get Caucasian hair, especially in your price range. It barely exists, if at all, anyway and if you did find it, it would cost much more than what you're willing to spend.
You know, Amy, plastikhaar comes in wefts. You have to order 5 meters, but the price is really reasonable compared to the human hair you're sourcing. You can probably sell any extra here. They blend colors any way you like, and it's available in the length you want.
Just a thought.
Just looking for a few good hair slaves - is that too much to ask?
i have synthetic ponytails and they just don't have the look or feel I am going for.
Jenny, I am sorry. I know I'm probably driving you crazy. I have considered all of the sources you recommended, but it seems like I have bad luck because I'll find one that the price is right and the texture is right and the color is right but the length is too short. or they dont have it in my color. there is always something. anyways, ill check the back posts you listed. thank you for taking the time to post them. i'll try not to ask for any more advice.
You don't have to stop asking for advice but it's all just trial and error. You have to just get out there and start trying stuff using your best judgement.
There is no one "magical" hair out there. I have yet to find a hair that doesn't tangle to some extent. No weave will ever act like your real hair. ever. So the trick is just to try to come close and that's different for everyone. I like Bohyme and Naturegirl. Someone else will like something different.
But based on what you're looking for I say go with indianhairs. They're okay, not my favorite because I thought the hair was too silky like white girls hair for my kinky texture but if you have caucasion hair, then you should be fine. I also didn't care for it too much because I thought it shed too much, but that was the second batch I had, the first was fine.
But here check them out... they have your length, it only comes in one color which is usually #4 or #2, you can get it hand tied or machined and it'll cost around $200 with shipping and you get a pound which is a lot of hair.
It's all about trial and error. If you don't like it, you move on to the next brand like we all have done.
Hi Amy, For what it is worth - I have been extremely happy with the His and hers 100% mink French body wave has been great. Extremely fine and soft, but that''''s what I need. I also used the Boyhme straight and It was great also. You want to get hair for weaving when you shop the online sites. machine or hand wefted is fine for clip ons, machine wefted may be easier to deal with because you can cut it.Hand tied is really nice but if you are a novice at hand sewing I would go with the machine weft. I made my own clip ons for years.
Again, Amy, it wasn't my intention to offend you or to suggest that you should stop posting. But basically, it's everything AfroPuffs said: At this point, you've got to synthesize the information and start making some decisions--especially if you need them as urgently as you seem to. Good luck! :)
Hey from one Amy to another....I know what it is like, I have asked a few questions over again, and I have tons running through my head, that I would need someone who I know I am comfortable with to ask about, since I don't wanna be a nuisance. At some point though, you need to just do and not ask.
Just do it girl.
The moment you buy hair, and the equip needed to install it, then the next time you will find you understand a helluva lot more, and dont need to ask so much, know what i mean??? Just experimetn cheaply lol. Don't start off with bohyme, get some PH.
