QuoteReplyTopic: New Glue Shrinkies from Germany Posted: February 17 2005 at 8:30am
Apparently Hollywood Hair in Germany are not only selling shrinkies now that resembled heat shrink tubing but they are now too selling the shrinkies with glue inside. Here is the picture.
I translated their german description into english and this is what they say:-
"The newest on the market in things hair extension!
Contents:
100 GLUE Shrinkies $20.02 £11.00 EUR 16.00
Extremely easy, soft rings, that the strange hair with the characteristic hair through heat connects with a connector!
Through the transparent color, they adapt itself effortlessly each hair color!
Use in addition best gebondete strand.
The Glue Shrinkies are coats in contrast to the classic Shrinkies interior and guarantee therewith a yet better stop.
One can removing the GLUE Shrinkies with 95% igem alcohol.
And so the Shrinkies are mounted:
The characteristic hair is pulled with a Microringnadel through the Shrinkie. After that a gebondete becomes (Microringbonding!) Hair strand of below with in the Shrinkie put. The Shrinkie can be heated now with the connector and holds so the hair strand and the characteristic hair firmly.
If you require a Microringnadel or gebondete hair strand for this method, you view find in our Shop, there you both. Moreover yet much further accessories all around the hair extension!"
I think you can just about get what they are saying although it doesn't completely translate into understandable English does it LOL. So they think it is a new thing, well Doc Locks should tell them that their prices are a lot cheaper and that they've been doing the glue shrinkies for a long time now LOL. Is Mark Barrington going to sue these as well LOL. At least we know where we can get some if Doc's have a shortage one time, also interesting is that they tell you you can remove the residue with ALCOHOL, one sip one dip, one sip one dip, glug glug hiccup xxx

LOL. That's happened to me a few times but I eventually got on it. I've had the normal shrinkies from this German company and they were ok, I assumed they had glue in them cos they held really well but then a couple of days later my Dr Locks ones came and the holes were a lot bigger so that's why I've stayed with them x

Dr Locks actually had TWO websites - a new one where you have to log in which I found impossible, and the old one which I use all the time. If you're at the log in one and you keep trying to make an account and it keeps bringing you back to login page, look for the little link that takes you to the 'old' website, then bookmark that one. That's what I did after much frustration. I love Dr Locks regardless. It's got great products, prices and tutorials and their shipping is very fast. I love them.

Well anyway good news guys. I was e-mailing Dr Locks last night about the Germany thing and I also asked them about buying shrinkies in bulk. They said that they are putting a three pack deal on their site soon and also making enquiries with their supplier into buying kilo packs of shrinkies so that will make it even cheaper for us DIYer's xxxxxxx
