With all the talk about Plastikhair, Dome, hotstuff fusion etc...and how long some of us wait to get these wonderments of modern styling in our hands....Why not you strike a deal with these ladies in these wonderful places to be the AMERICAN distributor of these hair products?!? as the world gets smaller and people try to find new and convienient ways of doing things its a shame that it takes three weeks to arrive to our doors. It might be profitable and enpowering to us all if you did the leg work to make it happen!

Think about it! contact some of these places and get the products in your online shoppe!

Just a suggestion!

Oh and I must say to all of you ladies, it bugs me out really that you guys are so into the weave and add on hair and techniques and and and..... I just thought it was a sista thing to want to play with the tresses in different ways lengths and styles....I was wrong! and I have learned lots! Thank you! I love the posts!

I don't think that's what she meant by "sista". Usually when someone uses that word, it means they're a black woman referring to other black women, and most of the people who's photos I've seen here aren't black. So we may be part of the sisterhood of women, but not "sistas" in that particular sense.

Welcome, Dee! It's good to see you here. And it bugs me out too, frankly: Most white girls aren't into extensions and weaves, but we're a pretty hair-obsessed crew. :)

As far as the monofiber and thermofiber go, I believe both Kristin and Fina were looking into it. I think some of the therm companies may actually be U.S. based, but the products are all sort of randomly distributed and haven't been widely used or publicized, really. A few girls on Quinn's in the U.K. were using the AD therm, I believe, and a few girls on Black Hair Media Forum were using the Hot Stuff Fusion, but beyond that, it's pretty uncharted territory. The monofiber has been more widely used and publicized, but right now two of the major companies that sell it to the public are in Europe, although Trimco is U.S. based, I believe.

Anyway, I imagine all of this stuff comes from Japan and China anyway, so yes, we need to hook that up.

Again, welcome! :)

Oh, I'm sorry Bridget. :) It's so hard to read emotion from people's posts on the internet unless you know them well.

One problem with monofiber distro in the US in that Prostyles don't sell (or rather, try not to sell) their ProHair in the US to anyone who isn't a licensed cosmetologist. Never mind that in California and many other states you can legally do extensions without a license, so they're really only disallowing you to have something that you could legally use professionally. (I need a rolling-eye emoticon.)

So that just leaves Dome, who massively overcharge- and I mean like $30- for shipping to the US (they don't do that for UK purchases, but then you have to pay VAT, which adds up to nearly as much anyway), so they're out. That really only leaves Trimco (who are already pretty well distro'd through Hairpolice), and PH. I don't mind PH's current distro system, though I imagine matters would be improved slightly (esp. for people who make smaller orders than I do) by only paying shipping from the US.

As a matter of fact, on the PH tip, Sara gives bulk discounts. I believe that it's 5% for 100CHF, 10% for 200CHF and 15% for 300CHF- so if one had the capital (and that's only $250, really), one could buy 300CHF worth of hair, sell it for the same price as it goes for on the PH website, keep the 15% as a profit, -and- US customers would only have to pay US shipping costs. It's a business plan waiting to happen.

Hmm...that's an idea.

Trimco's prices and shipping are quite reasonable. The only reason I haven't ordered from them is because they only have straight. I wonder why they haven't added some wavy textures to the mix.

Trimco seem to be very absentee wholesalers- it seems like HP are the only people to have ever managed to get ahold of them. The hair is nice, but my two main complaints are that it's short like Dome and ProStyles (about 30" total), and that there's a very small color range- only about 30 shades for both natural and rainbow colors.
