I wanted to start a new topic so the other thread that was talking about using rings and tracks didnt get too confusing with a different topic.
I was curious about what Samantha~Jane said about how she used shrinkies with wefts. She said she pulls two or three strands of hair through the weft and then attaches a shrinkie. Can anybody elaboarate on this method? SJ can you help me understand how this works? I am really curious about this.
Basically she is attaching the weft with shrinkies like you attach the weft with micro rings, you pull a section of your natural hair through the weft and combine it with a section of the weft hair and then shrinkie it, I've used this but it feels a little bit bulky xx

used a similar method last week on my sisters hair, I pulled 2 - 3 strand of her hair through the weft and pull them through a shrinkie! So far it's lasted really well and it feels alot lighter than doing tracks across her head.
When I do it, I part the hair, put the weft up against the person's hair, part a section of the weft and then pull a piece of the person's hair through, I then take a strand of hair from the weft and put it with the persons hair and then shrinkie or micro-ring it, then I move along the length of the weft and do this say every inch, you are sort of securing the weft to the head if you know what I mean, I wish I had a picture xx
That's actually not how ringed wefts are normally done. If you look at my previous post, or Doc's weft tutorial, they're done a different way. American Dream also makes pre-ringed wefts that have the rings sewn on horizontally (as in, the hair passes through horizontally), which your method wouldn't work with.
As far as shrinkies and wefts, I don't think there would be a problem with attaching shrinkies to a weft the same way as microringed wefts.
I will post some pictures soon, as soon as i get my sister round here and show ya exactly how i done it, it is sooo easy and looks flat. I do exactly how amanda described it only i dont include any of the fake hair in the shrinkie.
so if you comb your hair it could catch the flap
Pretty much yeah, you just have to be careful when brushing, the same way you would brush your hair with any other sort of extensions. Try not to brush at the roots.
