I have never gone to a spa or facialist, and was wondering if any of you like to do this. Does it really improve the look of your skin, or do you do it just to relax? I'm mostly happy with my skin except for an occasional zit, but it might be a fun thing to try.

Hi Jenna...Sophie here...Ive had many Facials and Spa treatments in my time....What a treat.

If you can't afford regular facials, then just be sure to use a good skincare regime, because one two or three facials a year won't make that much differance JMO, although it would be really relaxing and fun...every day is key, for skincare.

But if you want a great Salon/Spa experience do your homework and really ask around.

I do get regular Massage...about every three weeks...and it is so important to me that the person doing it, is right for me. Because it's so easy to have a mediocre experience. Ask around, call around, find out who everyone is going too. It's really worth it.

Thanks, Sophie. I probably shouldn't be splurging on those luxuries right now anyway, but in the future if I have extra money I'll look around. I've never had a professional massage, but I think I would love that! It must really decrease your tension and keep your body healthy. I just went to a chiropractor today because I had a lot of upper back pain this year, and it turns out my spine was out of alignment. I'm going to him a few more times to fix this, and they also have a good masseuse I'm thinking of going to.

I used to have to go tto the Chiropractor regularly.

Does your insurance pay for it?

I'm lucky to have complete control over my income and the way I look at it is...if I don't have the money to get a massage or whatever....I simply work more.

But I tell my clients, that say they don't have the money....The next time your thinking about going shopping, choose a massage insted.
I don't know about you but whenever I go to TJMaxx or Target, I spend $65 or more.

Or if your maintaining a set of sculptured nails....you can choose...Nails or massage once a month...?? It's really just a matter or re-arranging what I spend my money on.

I think women worry too much about spending money on themselves. We spend on everyone else....Our hubby's don't understand, and look at you funny when you say you would like to go get a facial or massage.

I would be willing to bet that your hubby spends money on things for himself and doesn't think twice about it. Golf, a golf club, hunting, softball, ESPN, going out with the guy's, car stuff, electronic gadjets, hobbies.....

And, I'd be willing to bet, if we put up our PERSONAL expendatures next to theirs, they would come out on top.

I explained to my hubby, once, that getting pampered once in awhile...or buying the skincare I want or being into fashion, the way that I am...is just as much a hobby as His custom fishing rods or golf with the guy's.

I swear, I saw a light go on in his eye's....it was cool. He never questioned me again.

Anyway....sorry for that little tantrum....can you tell we talk about these things at the Salon a lot.LOL

Jenna,
I have had one facial done before. When my husband got back to here from the States (he was gone for about 5 months) he and I went to a wellness place. It included full body massage, a facial and foo/hand massage/lotion and all of that. There was two women. While I was getting the facial and feet/hand deal, he was getting the massage. And then we traded. (he told me not to tell anyone he got a facial..hehe) It was both very relaxing and nice. It was about 3 hours total, and well worth it!

Now did it change anythign on my face, no. But it was nice to get the massages!

Editied to add.. Germany is nice, lots of wellness places around!

OK Laine...personal question....How was the sex that night??? LOL.

You don't have to answer if you don't want to....But sex definately improves if women are pampered and relaxed. And ....If our guy's would just figure that part out...well, let's just say we'd ALL be happier.
