I know. I'm of mostly Native-American heritage with tan/brown skin, and they are saying now even dark skinned people can get skin cancer or other skin problems by laying in the sun too much. Where I live in North Dakota the summer is short compared to many places, but I take no chances and don't lie in the sun.

As someone with skin cancer, I find that comment blatantly stupid. You must be young and very superficial. Not only can excessive sun exposure give you skin cancer, it also wrinkles you up and gives you all kinds of discolorations and little growths on your skin... NOT beautiful if you live past 40. Not to mention, malignant melanoma can kill you rather quickly. Do you want to be tan and DEAD?

Ah well, each to his own...
