While I respect Ms Hume's decision, its is very sad to see such stunning hair wasted and cut off. I can't imagine why she would want to do that, and she looks so much less attractive - and ordinary - without her long locks. :o( Chris

Did you read the article? If you did, you would know that Kristy was excited to make a change, and loves the change. Also, it is not all bad news for you, she said in the article, that she will have it short for a year, then grow it back. She also said that she wants it either short or VERY long, and that she was glad to cut off all her damaged hair! So look on the bright side, when she does grow it back, it will look better than it does now.
Remember, it's just hair, and she is beautiful without her cloak of hair.

You said, "look on the bright side, when she does grow it back, it will look better than it does now."
Well, maybe, maybe not. I found and read the article, and she blamed the damage to her hair on the styling done to it as required by fulfilling her role as a model.
Starting now, will those factors that cause damage cease to be applied to her hair? Will she be taking steps to ensure that the detrimental effects of overstyling not adversely affect her hair? I wonder how she plans to cope. Otherwise, her intentions may not come to pass.
(No, I`m not asking you to answer these questions, I`m only wondering aloud).

You quote that "it will look better than it does now". Well, looking at the 'before' pictures of her ultra long, straight, shiny tresses - how could it look much better? She's either misguided or, more likely, wasn't intending the remarks to be taken seriously. By confining this 'revelation' to a (relatively) obscure website it doesn't seem like she did it for the publicity; rather, like the rest of us, she just fancied a change.
But never say "it's only hair". Hair is everything, she just didn't want to shout too loud about it, and I must say I quite respect Kirsty for that.
