QuoteReplyTopic: The Anna Kournikova Debate Posted: September 20 2001 at 1:22pm
It seems like one of the most often discussed topics on this board is the length of Anna Kournikova`s hair. Consequently, I decided to do a virtual makeover for her to see for myself.
I did several versions of Anna with shorter hair (some were very short hair), but only a few turned out. If you would like to see the best pic, go to: http://www.geocities.com/shhrlvr/akmakeover.JPG.
My Take:
Even though I generally prefer shorter hair on women, I`m not sure that Ms. Kournikova qualifies as a prime candidate for a drastic makeover. I don`t think she looks bad in the pic, but I think she looks better with her locks long.
Anyway, I would be curious to know what all of you think?
unbelievable enough, I`m with you on this one Gord. Photo trickery and a good looking style are two different things. Anna is one of the only 4 women that I can think of who should never go real short, her, Crystal Gayle, Jane Seymour and Brooke Shields.
The response to my post turned out about as I expected . . . it was mixed. Again I don`t know if Ms. Kournikova should go short because she looks pretty good with long hair. At the same time I would not be adamantly opposed to the idea of her going shorter, given the right style. (I don`t know if the sytle in the pic qualifies -- it just had the right color, lighting and position for the makeover; I did several others, but none turned out as well.)
Regardless, I wouldn`t put AK in the same "never go short" category as Jane Seymour, Crystal Gale or Brooke Shields (and I do agree with SS Jockey with these other women).
Regardless, I think it is interesting to see experiment and see how people look with different styles. In addition, to AK, I have done several makeovers for other celebs who won`t be going short anytime soon. Some I think could or should (think Carmen Electra, Salma Hayek, Krista Allen, Brooke Burke), but others shouldn`t (think Claudia Schiffer, Jane Seymour, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Pam Anderson, etc.)
There some others, where I just don`t know what to think (think Josie Maran, Catherine Zeta Jones, Britney Spears). Maybe I`ll just have to do some more experimentation . . . do any of you have thoughts or suggestions?
PS -- The makeover was done on Photoshop.

I disagree with respect to Jennifer Love Hewitt, she would look amazing with an Audrey Hepburn look from Roman Holiday. As for Brittney Spears, less would be more. Cut her hair to chin length, tone down the color, put her in some decent clothes, and you just might have something!!!
Well, I think that a lot of the hair nuts like on this site, and I mean that with no disrespect, like to se4e people change their hair. While probobly 80% of people on this site would like to see her cut her hair, I would bet that 80% of other people would disagree. As for Brittany Spears, cut her hair, tone it down, and put more clothes on her, and you will have a less popular girl who will make less money.
In a recent interview, Anna Kournikova said she was planning to cut off all of her long blonde hair just as soon as she won her first major singles tennis title.
Well I guess that just about settles the issue... I hope you guys have good imaginations `cos it`s not gonna happen baby!
