QuoteReplyTopic: Questions on Coping w/ Hair Limbo Posted: January 20 2002 at 3:26am
I`m in the PROCESS of growing out my hair, after years and years of never having it more than a couple inches long. it`s a self dare really, to see if I can muster up the patience. Here`s my problem, my hairs at that middle point... Where it`s long enough to get in my eyes at the worst possible times, like when I`m driving, and short enought to render ponytail holders completely useless... Also keep in mind that I`m really hoping to avoid bangs right now... Now, I`m not the fashion cponcious type at all, I`m just trying to find a way to keep my hair out of my face. Thing is, I also have ADHD, which leads to sensory integration, which means that hats and head bands feel itchy enough to distract me; hair elastics are a pain cause they feel like they`re tugging the hair out of my head; etc. On the other hand, I recently found these hair clips (w/ teeth) and seem to be discomfort free to my head. I`ve yet to try them out in my car w/ the windows down (having the windows up makes me feel claustriphobic). Anyway, I`d like to see what different styles I can find for these crazy little thingies. But I`d like to keep it quick, and effective. BTW, my hair type is straight, and at the cusp of fine, and slightly thick.

Curler clips might work for you. They`re kind of triangle shaped and spring-loaded and you can get them in different colors. I use them to hold my bangs off my face when I`m growing my bangs out. They don`t feel like they`re yanking my hair out. Maybe you can spray your hair a little with hairspray to give the clip something to hold on to.
