As a 23 year old guy, I would say (unless you want to) don`t cut your hair in the hope it will attract guys. There are guys out there who love all hair styles. Personally, I love long hair on women - but I have many friends who like short hair.
Any guy who only goes out with your for your hair is probably not worth it anyway - so you`re best off having your hair how you want it!
Personally I don`t think shorter hair would make anyone `more attractive`. And if you cut it off it sounds to me like you will regret it!
I`m sure there will be a great guy around the corner for you. There is no such thing as being `too ugly`. :)

Guys absolutely love long hair!! Girl friends can be envious and would love to see your hair cut off. I guess they don`t feel so bad about their own that way. I have worn mine below my hips for years. Sometimes they are shy and are afraid to talk to you because they think you must already seeing someone. I have found that you need to do things that will get you in a position to meet guys. Join a singles club, learn to ski, meet guys through common friends. I have gone through some dry spells and had times where I have dated a couple guys before I got married. I dated one cute guy on who absolutely adored my hair. I met him at a sports bar when I was with a couple of my friends. I was supposed to get my hair trimmed that day but ran out of the salon when the stylist said she would have to cut it a couple inches above my elbows to get the damaged ends. My "friends" called me a wimp, but the guy, Bob who knew my friend Sue defended me. He said I showed great judgement by not letting the women hack off all my beautiful hair. They gave him flack, but he just said they were jealous. Well I invited to sit next to me and we hit it off great. Later that evening as he stroked my hair (with my full permission of course), he told me it was gorgeous and that I should never, ever cut it. I asked him about the damaged ends, and he offered to trim them for me. I was hesitant as I was afraid this great guy might turn out to be scissor happy. Well I thought it over and the next day he trimmed an inch off my ends and then brushed my hair for a long time. Unfortunately he was on and off with a girlfriend and when he was free I was seeing someone. We are good friends today, he trims my ends for me every few months, and I am now married to a guy who never wants me to cut my hair.
