Hey, I`m a 15 year old female with pagent winning red red hair, it`s always been naturally wavy, and thick. I decided a while ago i wanted soft pretty ringelts and i was told sprial perms are the best for that. I found the best place in town...and today i got it done, It looks awful, it`s frizzy, damaged, and uncontrolable. It`s about 3 inches out from the sides of my face of just pure frizz. Usually my hair is only about 1/2 inch think on the sides of my face and it`s about down the the middle of my back and thats just awful. I don`t know what to do!!! I want soft silky curls but i don`t know how to get them, also what should i do about my hair not that it`s ruined..i can`t even think of getting it cut short!!

don`t freak out. Did your wash your hair after you got the perm? That is a HUGE NO-NO. However, assuming you didn`t, wash your hair with a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, preferably one that is especially for perms. Squeeze the water out of your hair and wrap it in a towel-just for a minute or two, to keep the water from running into your face. Take off the towel and using a great mousse or gel ( I use L`oreal Pumping Curls, etc.) work the product into you hair while it is wet. DO NOT TOWEL DRY OR COMB OUT! This is very important. Now, you can either blow-dry with a diffuser, or like girls who love the ease of curls, let it air dry. It will be a LOT less frizzy. I`m hoping that the stylist didn`t try to comb or do anything to your hair after it was permed. But hopefully, these hints will help you. Don`t worry, it`s takes a while to get used to it if you`ve never fixed curly hair....you`ll get the hang of it after a few tries. Oh, and don`t out too much mousee or gel in your hair, it will get crunchy. 2-3 pumps should do.

im 17.she should try using a good leave in conditioner. it might take her a day r 2 but once she figures out the amount her perm should calm down. when i first got my perm it took about 3 weeks to relax and look good. now i treat my hair to a leave in conditioner every other day and after almost 6 months my spirals still look pretty good. i`ve had to have the ends trimmed a couple of times but it still looks decent. i also uuse gel.
