Hi, I was just wondering if perms for guys are still in style? If so, what styles look good and are popular? My hair is only about 4 inches long and I have been told it would probably need to grow some to get a perm. I was just wanting a new style and a perm was suggested.

Thanks.

Peter,
I`m a 34yo married physician ( I state this for the sake of credibility-I`m not a stylist, etc....); I`ve been considering a perm myself.
I do not think perms are currently in style for men, though I may be wrong on that one. If your hair is four inches, from what I`ve been able to glean from various boards and stylists, you`ll definitely need to grow it (unless you want a tight perm).
After thinking about it quite a bit, I`ve decided to go ahead with trying a perm (going fairly tight and curly). I`m not going to worry if it`s in style or what I look like, as long as I like it.
So, if it`s something you want to try, I would do it; I would not do it based on someone`s suggestion.
You sound like your hair is normally shorter; if you decide you don`t like it, get it shaved off (that`s my plan B, and that actually is in style). Bob
