(not that i`m ashamed of my curls but...)

I bought a mini hair straightner for when I sometimes leave my hair out @ school. Because when I normally leave my hair out by the end of the day it`s all stringy and frizzed and it doesn`t look good...

So I bought a hair straighter to use just when I want to leave my hair out. So I was wondering will my hair get damaged too much if I use the hair straightner once a week or once a fortnight?

BTW: it`s a heat straightner not a steam one.
