I can`t stand my hair anymore! It`s curly, long and medium thickness. I`ve had it layered in the past but the layered parts curl up and stand up even after straightening with the blowdryer. I`ve been letting the layers grow out for a long time. All it does is frizz. I can spend 30 min. with the blowdryer, leave-in cond, serums-they all do the same-to straighten it but it`s just frizzy. When I complain to my hairdresser she reminds me how long I waited for the layers to grow out so she won`t cut into the top to give it height because that would layer it. When she styles it it looks great. I`ve always had long hair and wouldn`t feel comfortable w/short. I`ve also had bangs all my life. When I leave my hair curly it`s all over the place and feels messy. I need to straighten my bangs but then the top looks stupid unless I straighten part of the top. Anyone have an idea?

Don`t fight it Alycatt. Work with it. I use the cheapest products and my hair always turns out fine. Very seldom do i use the blow dryer or curling iron or any type of straightening product.

It took me years to grow out the layers as well and i have since discovered a way to do my hair so it looks good.

While hair is still damp from fresh shampoo, comb through your styling gel, making sure you get the ends. Using a pick at the roots, gently "fluff" your hair to separate the long strands. Once this is accomplished, using the towel from your hair, smooth and crunch, flip (from side to side), smooth and crunch and continue to do this until you get the desired affect.

Let it air dry from there. If you still feel that it is too frizzy, spray a little hair spray on the spot and smooth it down again and crunch. Works every time.

Good Luck!
