QuoteReplyTopic: how do i change curly to wavy? Posted: June 01 2002 at 9:58pm
i have naturally curly hair. when curly its chil length and doesnt move at all and its huge. i have an afro. i think it would be easier to have wavy hair than to straighten it. how can i make my naturally curly hair wavy insted of insanely curly?
Grow your hair out. You wont have a fro! If you want it wavy, wash it and use strong conditioner, then braid about 2 inch sections all over your head. Then hairspray it. Sleep with the braids in and when u wake up take them out and u should have pretty waves.

Growing your hair longer might help, because the weight will pull some of the curl out. I`ve also read that long layers (longer than your chin) help avoid the "pyramid" look.
Are you able to "drag" the curl out a bit when putting styling products in wet hair?
Funny thing, I`m a wavy who wishes she could get more curl! :D
Wavy Brunette Current Length: 29" Goal Length: my maximum growth potential ;)
