QuoteReplyTopic: do other naturally curly people have this problem??? Posted: September 23 2002 at 5:54pm
Well, I know 4 other people with naturally curly hair and they have told me that their hair falls out a lot. I have this same problem. I eat healthy and exercise and i`m still young, so i know that is not why my hair does this. For as long as i can remember, my hair has always been falling out a lot(it`s thick, not thin). On the other hand, my sister who has naturally straight hair rarely has hair falling out of her head. I was just wondering why this happens commonly to curly-headed people and what can be done to stop it??

Hey, Renn! I don`t really have a problem with that myself, but I know some people who have. It be be B/c of... 1)Do you color your hair? Sometimes even gentle, temporary color can make hair fall out. 2)It might not be falling out but breaking instead. If its tangled and you try to brush it out it might break. I use The Detangler by Paul Mitchell- its works pretty well. try something like that. 3)I`ve heard many times that everyone loses some hair naturally-if yours is thick, then it might just seem like a lot 4)try changing some of the products you might use- sometimes a certain product can do wierd things to ya 5)if its really bad, ask a doctor; they might have more answers
Also, try taking a mutlivitamin every day (if you dont already). I have a friend who has to take regular medication for depression, and she lost tons of hair from it. Her doctor told her to take a vitamin regularly, and it really helped. Anyway, I hope this helps you some. Good luck! Love, Ingrid

Whew! im glad you said that Renn I was freaking out becuase my hair was falling out( i have curly hair), But now that I know im not the only one I can calm down, I was just wondering though if your hair fall`s out every time you brush it after taking a shower and it contunues to fall out through out the day, How long will it take to grow back, and will it eventually all fall out or something ?!! My hair look`s the same but....AHHHHH!!!! It only strated a couple years ago(when my hair got curly,Somehow!) and all I can say is yes my hair deos fall out!!!!!!

well my hair has never been dyed before so that`s definately not a cause. I never brush it out and haven`t used a blow dryer since last winter so those are not causes either. i don`t notice any thiness in my hair but i do notice hair on the floors of my room, bathroom, and shower!
Don`t be worried, because it`s normal to lose about 100 hairs a day. I lose a lot of hairs, and I never brush my hair, just comb it in the shower. If you have any other hair questions, then http://naturallycurly.com is a GREAT website for curly hair. Hope that helps!
