Hey everyone, I''ve been reading every post up and down but i''ve yet to come across something i''d be able to try. I used to have straight hair and i always wanted to have wavy hair. I went to a salon and i told them what i would like, and they gave me a perm. Well, the lady said that the curls would loosen up so we''d have to start out tight, so she used the smaller rollers. When she was finished they were really tight and when it dried it was extremely poofy, but she assured me that they would relax and come out a bit. It''s been a couple months and they''ve yet to relax. They are still as tight as they were when i first got them done. I''ve read about the different types of shampoos and conditioners and i plan to try some of them. Is there any shampoo & conditioner that works really well? if it''s possible is there a cheaper way to relax my curls, and possibly get a wave? My hair is starting to grow out and if there''s no inexpensive way to get them relaxed i''ll wait but if you have anyway''s please let me know. Oh, also when i let my hair air dry, it becomes so poofy... what do ya''ll do so that''ll keep it from becommin so poofy and u can just wear it down w/o using a mousse that''ll make it hard and everything. thank you for your time!!
Hi Krissy. I had a friend who had a similar problem with a perm years ago and it has put me off them. I have wavy hair that sticks out at the sign of any breeze. Sometimes I tie a scarf on but that's not possible all the time. I was looking for advice here on how to control my hair and read suggestion about setting on rollers. I now get it set at a salon most weeks and it makes such a difference. It looks great for several days. I remember my mother used to get her hair perm and set but if she just washed it went all poofy. So if you don't like it poofy buy some rollers and experiment at home. That will make the curls bigger and more defined. I take the easy option and go to a local salon for a rollers set. Let me know how you get on. LOL Dawn
