i have had curly hair all my life and am very sick and tired of it, i keep hearing all these solutions but they seem to be harsh and damaging, i heard about a service by loreal called x-tenso and am wondering if anyone had gotten it done or if anyone knew the pricing info on the service.
I'm not english speaking, but I will try to tell you my experience with Extenso. First : it does a great job with straightening your hair. The day that you wash your hair it is a bit wolumized, but the next day it is perfect. Therefore : If you want smooth straight hair for some party or something then wash it day before. The big suprise is that you dont get your curls after, how much they say on the L'oreal website...8 - 12 weeks or something, if I remember good. They just dont come back!! At least that is my experience. I have done it in august 2003 and today that I'm writhing this I still dont have curls, except on the part of new hair of course. I can't wait to get them back, really! And another thing is very surprisingly to me. I come from Yugoslavia (East Europe, for those who now think where the .... is that). Everybody there likes very much curls. Most of the girls wants to have them to. And when I went to salons for cutting my hair, those womens loved to work with my hair with great results too. Now I'm living in The Netherlands for a ten years now, and for all this years I have been only once goot cuted. It's a real disaster. And this people call them selfs professionals! Last year august I wanted just once to be straighthaired to see how it feels. I looked on the internet to see what is possible and so on. That is when I discovered Extenso AND how much women hates their curly hair! And why : just because L'oreal tells us what is pretty and not. Sad is that, don't you think? What I waned to tell after all above is this... it seems to me that it very much depends on which culture you live in will you feel beautiful or not with your crazy curls. However.... I dont no where you live so I can't tell how much is it gonna cost you. I have paid euro 55 (after informing by salons, and on other places same thing costs euro 80) so do call different salons to inform. If not for costs than to ask them if they work with Extenso. It's pretty unknown yet. In my case only two salons of the twenty that I have called did. Wish you to be happy with your new hair. Hope I have helped you.
wow thanx rajme you really helped i've looked into the whole straightening thing and have decided to get x-tenso done, earlier i was looking into getting thermal reconditioning which makes the hair really straight but it's 500 by the way i live in canada(toronto) so i looked up the salon that did x-tenso which is salon daniel and they provide the x-tenso service there for about 150 depending on the length. im sorry to hear that you still haven't gotten your curls back however it is good news to me that your hair won't go back curly untill the regrowth because my hair is more on the wavy side and it is better off straight. i still haven't gotten x-tenso done but i will some time this year.
i also got x-tenso done at salon daniel located in toronto, my hair was pretty frizzy and it turned out frizz free when i straighten my hair now it looks healthly and it takes 15mins to do my hair now. it costs about $200 if u live in canada
Hey, I was just reading this post and I'm interested in knowing how your results went. I have curly hair and to know I can have straight hair for about 6-8 weeks would be amazing just for the experience of it and to see how i look with straight hair. If you have any before and after pictures or like some comments about how it went please let me know. my email address is goldnya@hotmail.com. Thanks a lot!
I am getting this extenso done the first week of june. I liked the fact that it will take a curl afterward, like with an iron. So if I really hate it I can at least fake it a bit till it grows out. My questions are more about like w3hat about the days that you dont feel like strieghtening it out with a blow drier, what will it do. If I were to put product on it and just let it air dry, is it a little wavy? Also, can you brush it after blowing it strieght or will it frizz like a reverse perm would? Id love to hear your input. I have shoulder length frizzy/curly hair and I usually wear it up in a pony tail,as Im a stay at home Mom. So I figure if I hate it Ill just continue to put it up or cut it off. Thanks, Bonnie
I have I had my x-tenso done in South Africa in February 2004 and have since moved to Turkey where hairdressers have advised my that x-tenso will make your hair fall out and break.
This has made me worry.
Initially my hair was very curly and frizzy and all that has gone with no sign of return since. When i first had it done my hair felt brittle and very dry. this calmed down after about 2 weeks. But at this current day I couldnt be happier.
I just want to know if any1 has experienced the (hair falling out) thing or if the hairdresser here didnt know what he was talking about.
Today is 4 weeks since I had my hair x-tensoed and I wish I hadn’t. My hair is in good condition but it is gong back to its natural texture. So it is not straight nor wavy (natural texture) and before I can have it done again I have to wait fore at least 4 more weeks!!!!!! X-tenso is not the best relaxer but it is VERYgentle and I don’t believe that it would make the hair fall out or break. If you are looking for a permanent hair relaxer then x-tenso isn’t the product for you. X-tenso relaxes the hair and with time it wears out and your hair goes back to its natural texture. Good luck and please let us know how you go.
Hi!I just got ma x-tenso done yesterday.ur hair feels real light and its manageble.i've thick fizzy dry hair but its not reeally wavy, so i think its good for me.it doesnt give a very bone straight look like the rebonding.hair looks naturally straight and as ur hair starts to grow it will look voluminised.well thats what the stylist said and i trust him cus he has done my hair before.well i think u should just find a good stylist who knows wat he is doing.u know a lot depend on the stylist on how he uses da products.dats in my opinion.
I just got my hair done like 4 days back... let me briefly explain.
My hair''s naturally dry and curly - a really bad combination and I''ve tried rebonding before. The rebonding salon told me that results last for 6 months to 2 years. My hair returned to its original state in 3 months and got even drier than before. Very bad.
So I got xtenso done. 2 days after the treatment, my hair''s already sticking a little out at the side. It''s sticking out more today already but at least it''s still soft.
X-tenso is a hair re-texturizer, which means that it will permanently take the curl out of your hair, but not the frizziness. If you want to keep it straight, wash your hair once every two days or so, because you will have to blow dry it straight with a large round brush, then use a flat iron to smooth it out. This takes about two hours total working time on your hair. The cost for this process is about $100.00 to $120.00 at experienced hair salons. I am not sure if you can purchase this driectly from the manufacturer, but if you can, and you have a friend that you trust will follow the instructions, it doesn't seem to difficult to perform.
I FOUND A REALI KEWL SOLUTION TO STOP FRIZZY HAIR: -ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS APPLY LOTION TO UR HAIR AND IT WILL BE LESS FRIZZY(THIS MITE SOUND KRAZY BUT IT WORKS REALLY WELL) -IF U STRAIGHTEN UR HAIR, APPLY BEFORE STRAIGHTENING BECAUSE IT WILL ALSO PROTECT UR HAIR FROM DAMMAGE WHEN UR STR8 IRON IS HOT!!!
HOPE THIS HELPS U GET THE FRIZZ OUT OF UR HAIR....XTENSO WILL MAKE IT STRAIGHT BUT NOT LESS FRIZZY SO TRY WAT I HAVE TYPED ABOVE AND SEE IF IT WORKS 4 U CUZ IT DID 4 ME -SONIA
