its a moistrizer not a pomade........the key to gettin waves, short thin thick deep, is to keep it soft and managable.....ne moisturizer will work but pink oil is tha most popular n does wonders 4 sum pplz hair so moss pplz stick wit pink oil rather then otha unda tha radar moisturizer

haha.. black fate is learnin well.. couldn't have said it better myself.. basically just keep your stuff moisturized .. cuz brushin dry waves gives off no effect and serves no purpose... I use pink lotion and I apply it while my hair is still wet.. try to brush the most when your hair is wet.. it helps.. trust me ... and NO .. Pink Lotion is NOT necessary.. but it helps your wave game around 25%
