QuoteReplyTopic: How do I keep my natural hair texture? Posted: August 02 2000 at 4:22pm
I recently cut my hair very short and my relaxer grew out.I love my natural hair texture and want to maintain it, but am not quite sure how.My sister suggested getting a texturizer(she has one and I'm looking for the same results),but I want to know all of my options first. Can anyone help me out?It would be greatly appreciated.
Hi, about 2 months ago I came across African Wonders via www.blackhaircare.com discussion board (some people there have used her products) & www.naturallycurly.com, and they seem to have some very interesting products. The owner recently released her Naturalaxer Kit in a Jar which has 4 strengths and promises to NOT relax your hair as straight as chemical/caustic relaxers do. Actually it is more of a (natural) texturizer that lets you have the ability to control it based on the strength of the naturalaxer & your hair's coil count. I'm a very skeptical person, but after reading other message boards (mostly nothing but praises) and reviewing her website/credentials, I'm going to put my faith in her products. I recently recieved my relaxer in Medium (smells like cake batter), since I have N4/N3 virgin hair, and I plan to put it in on Sunday. If you are interested, I'd be happy to let you know of the results. Oh I almost forgot, the website is www.africanwonders.com and they have a Q&A Board where she personally answers all questions. I hope this helps.
I would like to know how your hair came out. I currently have my hair natural - about 1-2 inches in length. I`ve been thinking about buying on of the kits they sell for men, texturize their hair but was not sure how straight it would get.
I was just wondering if any of you ladies are considering not putting any chemicals in at all, but trying to just let it grow and regenerate itself. Keeping it moisturized and not necessarily straight can be very beautiful and manageable, believe it or not. I can`t offer anything specific, because I`m no pro or anything, but I bet it would be great for your hair to get the break from any chemicals at all . . .
