I was advised to use olive oil in my hair. i have been using jojoba oil, but i ran out (and there arent any stores that sell it around here). I think i want to try olive oil now. but what kinds should i use? what should i avoid? extra virgin?
i currently use it to cook with, so i don`t know if it`ll work. how should i put it in my hair? how much?
thanks

I`m glad to be answering your message since I`m such an avid olive oil user. I use it to moisturize my skin and hair. I use it as a prewash deep hot oil treatment and also it`s the main ingredient in my homemade Wild Growth Oil. It`s magnificent b/c it`s a little heavier than jojoba but still soaks in to the skin and hair. I use 100% plain old olive oil, some people use the extra virgin or virgin but to me it doesnt make a difference since those oils are purified for tastes in cooking. ( can`t taste the oil when used for a moisturizer) The smell is a little bland and kitcheny, takes a little getting used to, but rest assured that the smell evaporates once it soaks in. Hope this helps, any more questions, you can email me at caramela79@msn.com.

I like it so far and I have really dry hair. I put some in the mircowave and just to get it warm and apply a plastic bag to my head and just do my house work or whatever and then after I wash my hair it feels softer.

I add about a tablespoon of olive oil to my regular conditioner as well. This way, I get some of the benefits of olive oil when I don`t have time for a hot oil treatment, and it boosts the softening power of even the cheapest conditioners!

Hi! You really don`t have to use olive oil as such, it might make your hair limp. Several produts have olive oil and are very moisturizing. I have extremely dry hair and I swear by organic root stimulator olive oil. It is fantastic really. YOu could also mix the olive oil in small amounts in your favorite hair creme, one that is light on the hair. Olive oil is called liquid gold, and it is not for nothing!

Take care
