Hi everyone,
I would like everyone to list their best hair care and styling tips, that have worked for them. If at all possible list the products that you used with this tip.
I think that this thread will be great, if everyone contributes.
I will start:
- For super moisturization, apply virgin olive oil liberally to hair before washing. Cover hair with a plastic cap, and sit under a heated dryer or wrap head with a hot towel, if desired. Sometimes I actually sleep with my hair soaked in olive oil, your head will provide the needed heat as you sleep. I then wash the hair out in the morning and condition as usual. Style as usual. Be sure to wash out olive oil well.

Hope this works well for everyone who chooses to try it.

Hi,
Three weeks ago I stopped using the blow dryer and I have find immediate results. Less breakage, less hair in my comb, and less dry hair. Now, I just sit under the hair dryer for about 30-45 minutes to get my scalp dry.
I also started using Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil. I apply it right after I get from under the Hooded dryer to seal in moister. For a conditioner, twice a month I`ll use Vitale Super Recontructor Conditioner Intensive Treatment.
Well, those are just a couple of things I do to help improve the elasticity of my hair. Just remember to keep doing your homework. Try differnt products. What works for some may not work for others. I have tried some products that have worked well for other people and not good for me. So just keep trying and be encouraged :)

Trim ends moisturized and trim them regularly. If ends are kept moisturized, you will find that you need to trim split ends less often.

Put away the curling iron. Wear wraps or roller sets whenever possible. Try using a Caruso or Conair steam curling iron if you must use one.

Deep condition after each wash.

Castor is a wonderful scalp oil. Add a few drops of rosemary essential oil.

Hi All,

My weekly regimen for locking moisture into my hair is to wash frequently (2-3 times a week) with a moisture rich shampoo and a moisture rich conditioner with oil.

I wash my hair and then rinse shampoo from my hair. At this point I put Kewee oil in my hair and work it through paying special attention to the ends. On top of the oil I put conditioner and then sit under a dryer for 30-40 minutes. This gives deep moisture penetration and the result is very silky hair. But you must air dry and then wrap hair when about 95 percent dry. Do not use a blow dryer to dry hair after putting in all that moisture because then you end up taking the moisture right back out.

I always have to keep my scalp moisturized.

Not too much oil or grease, but never have too little. I find that my hair grows best when my scalp is always oiled. But never use too much grease or oil, because that will suppress hair growth. But always having a dry scalp will make hair growth very stubborn. It may also promote itching, which irritates the scalp terribly.

I am beginning to find products that work very well on my hair. I gotta share them. I`ve found a good regimen that I am going to stick to.

Profectiv products are great. I use the Break-Free after every shampoo so that there will be less hair in the comb when I have to detangle it. I also use their Mega-Growth every now and then on my scalp. To me, I get quicker results with putting Mega-Growth on my scalp than Wild Growth oil. That`s just my experience. Profectiv products are great stuff. Their products in the jar aren`t greasy at all. They are like lotions, some thicker than others. Mega-Growth is thicker than Break-Free. Oh, and I just wanted to mention that if you have hair color like myself, the Mega-Growth actually may revive it if it is looking kinda dull. Well, that`s what it did for me. I hadn`t been using it in a while, and then one day, I put some Mega-Growth in my hair and a scalp and my hair color woke up! No kidding. My hair is dyed sunset brown, which is kinda a medium brown, earthy, orangey color, but it had getten kinda dull. When I put the stuff on and combed and brushed it in thoroughly, some of my highlights began to sparkle (no joke) and the next day my entire hair color looked exactly like the day that I first got it dyed. I was shocked.

Profectiv anti-itch growth oil. When I put it on my scalp, it gives it a warm feeling, helping to eliminate the itch. I put some on one night, and woke up with a little teeny bit of waves in my scalp the next day. This was only 3 days after my touch-up, so they weren`t there before. I haven`t been using it long enough to have remarkable results yet. I`ve had it for just one week, but I like it and am going to continue using it.

Organic Stimulator Olive Oil Hair Spray. This is some great stuff. I am kissing my Isoplus Sheen Spray good-bye. This hair spray isn`t as oily and messy as the Isoplus, yet it delivers high sheen, and it smells great (thanks Rabia!). It`s also good for oiling the scalp. I put some in my scalp and hair last night and my hair this morning was smooth and shiny and I had a teeny bit more new growth down in the roots!

TCB Hair and Scalp Conditioner. This is a great grease. It keeps hair healthy and it is not super oily and it is not heavy at all. In fact, sometimes it melts, but it doesn`t lose its effectiveness. Actually, I like it when it melts because then it feels really creamy and light when I apply it. Great stuff. Also, it is a good grease for those of you who suffer from sensitive scalp and dandruff like myself. You know how some greases after you apply them, they make your scalp itch more, or you wake up to dry feeling scalp even though you put some in the night before??? Well, this grease is nothing like that. Keeps hair feeling soft and healthy, and it not heavy. Nor does it weight your hair down.

Sorry this post is so long! I just wanted to share :o)

Oh, I forgot to mention, take your vitamins. I have been taking a One-a-Day for the past week, and I think that may also be contributing to my sudden hair growth. I was probably lacking the essential vitamins in my diet that aids in hairgrowth. It`s really strange because I just got a touch-up on Saturday and now, I`m getting wavy roots all of a sudden. I may have to get my next touch-up in 4 weeks!

Karonica,
I am glad to know that you like the Olive Oil spray. I was stuck on Isoplus for a long time, but its simply too greasy, even the light spray. But Root Stimulator Olive Oil spray is perfect, it gives sheen and holds moisture, with out feeling greasy or heavy.

Anyway, I`m glad that people are contributing to this thread, because all of the tips can be useful to different people. So everyone continue to share the wealth.

Good luck to all.

P.S. Right now I`m doing conditioner only washes, which make my hair feel great.

Some of you wrote that after trying various products you found new growth or waves within a few days. I too experienced this with Organic Root Stimulator oils and Doo gro oil. My question is, is this really new growth or do these products somehow strip the relaxer from the newly relaxed hair.

Nope. They don`t strip the relaxer. Because my hair wouldn`t be growing then. With each touch-up, it gets a little longer than before ( I say a little because the trims take away a good portion of it), so it doesn`t seem logical that it is strpping the relaxer from previously relaxed hair.
