Hello all,
I have a serious problem. I had my hair highlighted a few weeks ago. However, I like my natural hair color much better and wish to do away with the streaks. Can anyone give me an adequate time on how long I should wait before attempting to dye my hair again? The wild growth oil is working very well against the chemicals. I have not seen any signs of damage yet,(Thank God) and my hair is still growing rapidly. So can someone please give me advice on hair dyes.

Hey there!

Good to see back!

Anyways, I first got my streaks last year in June. Then, I got it streaked some more in like November (can`t remember which month, but it was definitely after September)??? But this year, I got my whole head dyed in June with the color that I used for the streaks. Nothing went bad. My hairdresser told me just to remember to always grease it, so it won`t dry up and break off.If the color is really bothering you though, just put a rinse or semi-permanent over it. That`ll tone it down, if you select the right color.

Thanks for the response. I intend on dying all of my hair to get rid of the streaks. What I am asking is how long should I wait before dying my hair again to insure that my(hardly worked for) hair does not get damaged in the process? I am currently wearing flat twist to keep my ends from being exposed to the wind/sun. This style will keep the ends from becoming dry and brittle. I will continue to do the flat twist until I can dye again. I am sure I can use all the wild growth oil in the world, but if I continue to put dyes on my hair, eventually, it may start to shed or perhaps fall out. My relaxer is enough already. My, I made the biggest mistake when I did this!

I`d say wait about 4 months and up. In the meantime, keep what you already have really moisturized because dying dry hair will be an even bigger mistake.

I am of the African right there in the Motherland of Zimbabwe. Our hair is so nappy there. We tend to wash it and treat it to the best of our ability, but we mostly wear scarves. I suggest you consult a hair specialist, but do they always know? LOL. If you are very saddened by the hair results, you should do a little hair product shopping, try a few according to the type of hair you have, and see where it takes you. Or maybe you can ask someone who is interested as much as you are.
I really hope this information can help you. I am very sorry about your hair problems and wish you the best in finding the perfect solution.
