Trying to learn the steps to do this. Also, what type of straws work for the best set?

Hi Kisha.
I'm assuming this is on natural, un-processed hair. The best straws to use are regular old plastice drinking straws.
Start at the front and work your way around to the back, taking a small section of hair, wrapping it (up and away from your face) around a piece of straw (cut the straws into halves or thirds). Use bobbie pins to secure each straw. That is, slide the bobbie pin into the straw, so that one prong is holding the hair against the straw and the other is inside the straw. When you've wrapped the whole head of hair, it should look kind of like a pinwheel. Sit under a bonnet hair dryer for twenty minutes or so (on low), or let the hair dry. When you remove the straws, and don't like the Shirley Temple effect that is sure to result, just use your fingers to loosen up the coils. Enjoy!

A quick plug here: I hope more of us stop poisoning ourselves with creamy DRANO and start getting to know our REAL hair. God doesn't make mistakes!
