..alrighty -

I had about a 3 and a 1/2 inch afro. I began picking at my hair (with my fingers..) on the sides. I did it so much that my hair came out (LoL), so I got all of my hair cut off and I now had basically one of those..you know, shadow cuts or something..

..I have various products that I'm using, including Wild Growth Oil. When I began growing my afro about a year ago, I only wanted a 'fro and didn't really do what I was supposed to allow it to grow in a quality manner. Now, I'm doing so.

..how long do you think it'll take me to get 3 and a 1/2 inches again? Because I want to get my cornrows back ASAP..I love them, LoL. Also, how often should I get my hair trimmed? And how much should I get trimmed each time?

Thanks,
- Airknight

i am assuming you have a kind of a fade cut now. hair supposedly grows an average of 1/2 inch per month so you should have 3-1/2 inches in about 6 months where your hair is shaved off. you don't need to trim your hair but i think some folks get their fros shaped up *once they have reached their goal amount of fro*. it's tricky to cut afro hair because shrinkage is deceiving. you can easily cut off too much.

for trimming u only need to cut off half an inch. unless u have serious split ends!
