I relax my hair but I'm thinking about stopping. I've wanted to dye my hair for awhile but I'm afraid of the damage from the chemicals. I was looking for semi-permanent hair color but I can't find any. I did find one I think but I was scared my hair would break off. So what do you suggest I should do? Just wait till after I cut my hair off then dye it or something else? The thing is people say it looks weird when you dye natural hair. Plus I really don't want permanent dye. I just want to have fun playing around with my hair color without worrying about the damage or what color it comes out.

Natural hair does not look weird when it is colored. It looks beautiful and much less damaging than chemically relaxed hair. If your hair is relaxed and you plan on keeping it that way, i would suggest rinsing it instead of using semi-permanent or permanent color. My hair is hi-lited and it is natural. Best of luck to you in making your decision.

Seem like you are living off of other's opinions. Pick whatever you feel is right for you. Dyiing and perming are all chemicals and they are all damaging and if you have a relaxer it will especially make your hair break off. You can use henna but I don't think it take well on relaxed hair, also henna is natural it is a temporary dye and other cultures use it for temporary tattooes which can last up to 3 months.
How do coloring your natural hair look weird? I have natural hair and i add some color, here and there. Alot of people don't like our natural hair, they will tell you anything to MAKE YOU not like it as well.
My brother told me that, when I had natural hair. I said I wanted to dye it burgundy and he said it wouldn't look right on your frizzy hair. I had a burgundy henna streak in my hair a month ago. It was the leftovers from my mom using it. It came out sorta purple-ish. I was going to do my whole head but my mom said not to. Something about I have too much hair. I do have tons of hair way more than the average person. I was going to get a rinse when I got my relaxer touch-up but the lady burned my scalp so badly I just wanted to leave. I saw rinses at beauty supply stores but they say for salon use only. Can you do those at home? I also saw a temporary dye I wanted it came in a bottle. But it said you had to bleach your hair first. I just wanted to use it on my dark brown hair and hopefully it would bring out the red highlights in my hair without bleaching, but my mom said it wouldn't work because I have to bleach my hair first. She did let me get spray-on purple but I haven't used it yet.

Ok click on the link and look to the left column and click photo gallery. There are plenty of pictures of people and albums...click on their fotki links and see their albums. Some have color on their natural hair and others are growing their perm out. See how beautiful their hair is and if you see someone with color you like, let your brother see it. It is your hair, it's not your brothers hair.
I think natural hair dyed is nice. I'm sorry if I upset anyone. My brother said that like 3 or 4 years ago. We were drawing pictures of what we want to look like when we are grown up and i colored my hair red. And he made fun of me.
