I have a friend with waist length hair (I am trying to grow mine from bra lenght) and she told me that she cuts her own ends w/ a Tweezerman scissors. I thought she was kidding but she showed me the scissors in her purse and said that she even trims in classes when the teacher isn`t looking. Is this a common practice for long haired people? I mean self trimming.

Thanks.

Hi,

I have been trimming my own ends forever. In fact, when I go and get my highlights, my stylist gives me a pair of professional trimming scissors so I can trim while my highlights "cook". I often trim while I watch TV...which is not that often. I find it strangely relaxing and empowering...like somehow I am helping my ends from splitting further. :-)

That which doesn't kill you makes you stronger or drives you totally insane. :-)

Good God Almighty, Karen, I hope you`re paying attentionand not watching too much television. It would be tragic for those scissors to slip and hack off a hunk of your gorgeous hair.

I`ve been trimming my own hair since it was just past shoulder length, for just over 12 years.
My hair is almost to my knees (~50") and continues to grow longer. Rather slowly these days, but that's ok - it's still *growing*.
